JOB OF A MEDICAL REPRESENTATIVE-JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Daily meet 10-12 Doctors.

Every HQ is divided into a minimum of 15 patches of the various areas. In each Patch, they cover a minimum of 15-20 doctors. Out of these 20 doctors, Medical Representative, need to meet at least 10-12 doctors. The significance of the Patch is that the Medical Representative does not have to travel more, as the doctors in the given patch are in the periphery of 2-5 kilometers.

2. Meet Chemist minimum 5 per Day & ensure adequate stocks are available with them.

Every doctor, or hospital, is generally catered by a minimum of 2-5 chemists in the vicinity. While meeting the doctors in a particular patch, the Medical Representative is expected to visit the Chemist to check the stock availability and prescription status. Many times, in this call, the Medical Representative also gets the Order, popularly known as POB (Personal Order Booking), which is considered in high regards in Pharma Corporate, and which is a direct reflection of the Doctor Prescription which is again a direct reflection of the Efforts taken by the Medical Representative.

3. Meet Stockists, at least, once a week to check the payment status & stock availability to meet increased demand.

Meeting Stockist puts a lot of pressure on the Stockists for the regular payment to the C&F or Pharma Corporate. This also gives the opportunity to MR to know the patches wherein the stock movement is minimum or nil. Thus, MR can devote more time & get the doctors in that area to liquidate the stagnant stocks, this, in turn, rejuvenates the interest of chemists to keep the stock & sell the brand. If the sale is prescription-based, the payment is bound to come. Hence, it is part of the job of MR to collect the payment form the stockists.

4. Achieve Monthly Sales Target as stipulated by the Company

Value Sales Target is divided into a number of units; different brands need to be sold every month. Prudent, Medical Representative further divides the number of units into the number of prescribers and prescriptions per doctor and does a strong follow up with these doctors in the first 15 days of the month, to ensure, the easy achievement of the target.
