Despite taking all efforts, the Indian Pharma Industry suffers from a 38-40% attrition rate in Sales Teams. This means for any 1000 Medical Representatives recruited in any Pharma Company, there would be 380 to 400 vacancies at any given time.

The HR department, learns from their Sales Heads about current vacancies and announces the vacancies in national or regional newspapers on online portals like Naukri.com or Monster.com, etc and seeks the resumes from the candidates as well as get it from these portals or even certain headhunter or recruitment agencies.

Gauging your suitability, the HR department would call you for an interview.

During the interview process, it is made clear to the candidate about the Head Quarter, where, the candidate is to be posted depending on the vacancy. Mostly, the Pharma Corporate tries to put the candidate into his home town. If not, at least, the nearest city or town, considering, the willingness of the candidate to join at that headquarter. Once agreed, the HR department, gives an offer letter, specifying the date before which the candidate must report for the duty at the given headquarter or to the Head Office location for the initial Basic Training Program.
