1. The First & foremost tip for success is Honest Work as both the Doctor & the Corporate Pharma appreciate the same. It is very difficult to get the Honest People in today’s word, so anyone, who does Honest Work, is bound to get noticed and get promoted fast.
2. Regular visits to the Core Doctors as stipulated by the Company. Many times, due to doctor’s non-availability, refusal of the call by a doctor due to any reason, missed calls due to more time taken by any other doctor in the same patch, may poses challenges to follow the regular visits to the core doctor. However, the prudent MR would manage the monthly frequency by meeting the doctor on some other day or in extra hours.
3. Regular Visits to Chemist for getting proper support from them & ensuring the Brand Sales increases along with increasing the Chemist Sales. Many medical Representatives tend to ignore the chemist, especially of the existing company and existing brand. These are the loopholes, which the competition brand MRs find and try to convert the doctor and get the Chemist support, as well.
4. Regular visits to Stockist, to understand the name of the Chemists from where, they have not got the payment, so that, the Doctors in the vicinity of these chemists to be met and convinced to liquidate the stocks so that the chemist is able to release the payment to the stockist. Thus the stockist would be able to release the C&F / Company’s payment in time.
5. Medical Representatives should always try to compete at the All India Level. For at least 1 Brand, the Medical Representative should strive to be Number 1 at All India Level. The recognition for 1 brand, many times, motivates the MR to become number 1 for a few more brands.
6. Medical Representative should also strive to be Number 1 in Verbatim Detailing. As it is said, we in sales are paid for our tongue; any MR with verbatim detailing is darling of the Brand Management Team and also tends to be popular among his doctors. Sales are bound to come if he/ she do not forget to ask for the prescriptions.
7. Medical Representative should also need to be fast in providing Competition Information in terms of the Inputs / New Launches etc to the Product Management Team.
8. Last but not the least; Medical Representative must be on 100% Target for all months of the year to get recognition from the Pharma Corporate and to earn sales incentives.
